SF Brew Ride

SF Brew Ride

If you are a beer lover and are looking for a unique way to explore microbreweries in San Francisco, then look no further than an SF Brew Ride (SFBrewRide.com). The brew ride offers a sense of adventure and the opportunity to sightsee, all from the comfort of the back of a pedicab that feels more like a couch. If you are ready for a great tour of breweries in South of Market, then it is time to grab a growler and go.

The tour begins at the iconic Ferry Building. Just to the left of the main doors, the tour starts in front of the Four Points Brewery kiosk. After meeting your knowledgeable pedicab driver, you hop into the back of the pedicab and the San Francisco Pedicab driver quickly zips through the streets of the City toward the first stop.

Thirsty Bear

Thirsty Bear is the first brewery to visit on the Brew Ride. A generous tasting of unique, organic brews awaits you. The beers at Thirsty Bear are brewed on-site, right beneath the bar. Thirsty Bear offers unusual flavor profiles. From the crisp, refreshing Kolsch to the sweet, unexpected golden vanilla-tinged Panda, the beers offered at Thirsty Bear give you the opportunity to experience flavors that are surprising and pleasing. Not only is there delicious beer available here, but also fantastic Spanish tapas to complement the tasting.

Black Hammer

The next stop if Black Hammer Pacific Brewing. This small-production brewery offers tasting flights in a converted warehouse space. Black Hammer’s tasting space is gorgeous. There is an open-air feel and the reclaimed furnishings make simple, pleasing lines. Local artists’ works line the walls in spectacular colors. Dogs, kids, and outside food are welcome at Black Hammer, and the snacks are never in short supply. Black Hammer is a collaboration between two master brewers, and that mastery is apparent in the beer offerings. From delicious lagers to tangy IPAs, Black Hammer does not disappoint.

Local

The last leg of the journey lands you at a brewery that names its beers after places on a map. Local Brewing Company is a no-fuss, small-batch brewery right by AT&T Park. Its highly original brews are named after places and districts in San Francisco. The tasting flight takes you on a delicious tour through the curated beer list.
