The View

The View, as its name would suggest, provides breathtaking views of San Francisco. Located at the 39th floor of the Marriot Marquis hotel in the South of Market District, the View Lounge’s high arched windows offer a unique perspective of downtown San Francisco. The View overlooks the Bay, Yerba Buena Gardens, and other downtown San Francisco scenery.

The View has been around for more than 25 years, but was recently remodeled in 2015. This polished lounge has retained its iconic starburst windows and domed ceiling, and each part of its 4500 square foot space is perfect for a drink and a chat with friends. Comfortable armchairs and couches are interspersed with highboy tables, four tops, and coffee tables. There is additional seating at the beautiful candlelit bar as well.

In addition to offering a full bar and San Francisco-inspired cocktails, the View’s menu includes delicious bar bites and dessert options, perfect for the beginning or the end of your evening. The menu’s highlights include a local artisan cheese plate, meatloaf sliders, smoked beef carpaccio, and caramel corn panacotta.

Early evening at the View offers the opportunity to get pictures by the windows with the cityscape in the background. Once night falls, you can enjoy a drink and see downtown light up. You can also enjoy the dancing light display of the Bay Bridge. On firework nights at AT&T Park, you can also take in a light show in the sky.
