Butter

Butter

Located in SOMA at 11th and Harrison, Butter is a low-brow locale and trailer-trash paradise. Visit Butter if you’re yearning for the days when you used to raid your parents’ liquor cabinet or your very first college party. This bar serves up delicious drinks in a relaxed, trailer park atmosphere. You’ll know Butter when you see it. Like its namesake, this dive is painted bright yellow. Picnic tables dot the sidewalk outside of the entrance; and in case you weren’t sure of the bar’s theme, the Winnebago parked outside gives you a taste of what waits within.

Butter serves cocktails mixed with Tang and fruit punch. Some of their special cocktails include the Shotgun Wedding, Prom Night Punch, and the Tiki Trash. Are you celebrating a special occasion? Butter’s special bottle service is a tall PBR in a brown bag and a split of Fernet Branca. Butter also has a full bar and array of beers on tap.

In addition to the cocktail menu, Butter is known for its delicious comfort food treats, which are definitely not low cal. Deep-fried PBJs, frito pies, and tater tots are served in the back of the bar. These treats are deep-fried or prepared in the finest microwave. Note that these delicious snacks – perfect for when the drunchies strike – are cash only, but there’s an ATM inside.

After sampling the “gourmet” fare and the delightful drinks, you can expect to enjoy a lively evening that includes DJs and karaoke. Come as you are to this den of decadence. Butter is open Wednesday through Sunday.
